Vi är glada att kunna meddela att Anders Reuter anställts som universitetslektor i musikvetenskap. Anders presenterar sig så här:
”I received my MA in musicology from University of Copenhagen in 2008 and worked as a journalist and music producer before I enrolled as a PhD in 2017 (also at University of Copenhagen). The dissertation was entitled ‘Pop Processing: The Digitalization of Musical Time and Space’ (2021).
My research sits between popular music studies and digital culture studies. It is centered around popular music production’s shift to programming paradigms of electronic music including hip-hop, and how this is increasingly hosted by the interface-based, algorithmic and networked logic of contemporary computer culture. This furthermore raises more philosophical questions concerning the ontology of the musical work, compositional agency, expressivity and the novel ways music is listened to in streaming culture.
More specifically, my work has focused on musical form, rhythm, spatiality and (new) materiality in popular music. This will be continued with a focus on the algorithmic structures of signal processing, AI, network culture and cloud-based compositions. I am also working on a monograph on dynamic compression.
I look forward to employing my background as a musicologist in course topics stretching from the earliest forms of music to K-pop, just as I look forward to teaching digital culture studies.”
Välkommen till Lunds universitet, Anders!
