Vi är glada att kunna meddela att Katarzyna Herd anställts som universitetslektor i etnologi. Katarzyna presenterar sig så här:
I received the first MA degree in English Literature and Culture in 2008 from Jyväskylä University, Finland. After various jobs in education I graduated with the second MA in Applied Cultural Analysis in 2013 from Lund University. I started my PhD position in Ethnology in 2014 in Lund. My dissertation has the title “We can make new history here”. Rituals of producing history in Swedish football clubs and it was completed in 2018.
Research-wise, I have engaged with the field of football from various theoretical and cultural perspectives, for example narrative theory, theory of magic, emotionality, and the gift theory. I have continued working with football and spreading to other areas. I have driven projects about Swedish-speaking clubs in Finland, the system of transferring players, public perceptions of meeting with the police, and bad atmosphere at work.
The intersection of popular culture, sense-making and creative expressions drives my research interests. As several new projects are in the pipeline, I look forward to develop ideas and engage in teaching opportunities at Lund University.
