Nu har Europeiska forskningsrådet, ERC, publicerat resultatet för ERC Starting Grant i 2026 års utlysning. Sex av Lunds universitets forskare får det prestigefyllda anslaget, varav en på HT. Vi är mycket glada och stolta över:

Det är svårt att sätta fingret på exakt vad som är så fantastiskt med ERC-anslgen. Vice-rektor för forskning och innovation vid Köpenhamns universitet, Eva Hoffman, gör det väldigt bra när hon uttrycker sin stolthet över att en sådan här dag vara en del av Köpenhamns universitet:
”Nine researchers from UCPH have been awarded an ERC Starting Grant, one of the most prestigious and competitive research grants in Europe given to promising researchers early in their careers. Out of 4,807 applications, only 421 researchers were selected.
What strikes me most when I look at this year’s projects is the sheer breadth of curiosity and ambition. From black holes at the edge of the observable universe to the microscopic battles between bacteria and viruses, the hidden hormone systems that regulate the human body, and clues to how life first emerged on Earth, these researchers are asking some of the biggest and most fascinating questions we can imagine.
Breakthrough research starts with talented people who dare to pursue bold ideas. ERC grants are a recognition of exactly that: originality, excellence and the courage to explore the unknown.”
