TOURBUS EUROPA is a two‑year Creative Europe cooperation project aimed at improving cross‑border touring in the European live music sector by applying new AI‑based methods. The project is based on the research Brandon Farnsworth conducted during his postdoc affiliated with the Division of Musicology, Department of Arts and Cultural Studies. During the research, he developed a method for using AI to structure performing arts metadata and has been supported by LU Innovation in developing this into a new Swedish company, Tourbus AB.
The project will be coordinated by Sanne Krogh Groth at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies at the HT faculties. The project brings together Art Music Denmark, Initiativ Neue Musik Berlin, Föreningen Svenska Tonsättare, and Brandon Farnsworth’s startup as beneficiaries. The project aims to transform how live music is booked, organised, and understood across Europe, while also laying the ground for a future Horizon Europe application.
