FROM KNOWLEDGE TO IMPACT II: Bridging Minds, Markets, and Methods
A seminar on AI, research, education, and the labor market—on both sides of the Öresund.
Artificial Intelligence is reshaping our future—and the way we understand and acquire knowledge.
In a previous seminar, the HT Faculties at Lund University, together with Alfa Laval, explored some of the possible transformations for universities and large corporations. This time, we go deeper.
Speed/Acceleration. Research that once took years can now be completed much faster. The same applies to innovation in knowledge-intensive industries.
Philosophers and historians of science often describe research as moving to different clocks—some processes are fast, others span centuries. How will AI change that balance?
With increased speed comes more change. New tasks emerge, others disappear. University teachers—and employees everywhere—will need to adapt and lead transformation.
What skills will matter most? How do we prepare future graduates for this reality?
The ripple effects will shape both universities and businesses:
✅ Which programs will remain relevant?
✅ Which products and services will thrive?
✅ How can we anticipate these shifts?
AI will not replace the seasoned judgment and holistic understanding of human experts. Yet its rise may make it harder to enter the job market. How do we redesign education to prevent that?
Building education, research, and innovation to meet these challenges is no small task. We need collaboration—between universities and knowledge-intensive companies, and across cultures.
Sweden and Denmark share much, but also differ in important ways. By working together, universities on both sides of the Öresund can create a uniquely strong research and education region.
This time, we’re inviting CBS and KU to join us—and we hope for even stronger student participation than last time.
The full program will be announced soon!
